Creating Warm Memories: Family Winter Activities
This will be our first winter in so long, living down South we didnt have a winter like up North in New Jersey, we cant wait for winter and all the magic that comes with it. This season is magical and provides warm and lasting memories for you and your family.
When the winter chill sets in theres nothing better then a cup of hot cocoa, and a nice fire to sit by and relax,winter is a magical time to create some lasting memories with your family. From outdoor adventures and some indoor crafts, there are plenty of ways to make the most out of those winter months, consider doing a scavenger hunt in the snow, with clues and small prizes.
Another great thing to do is ice skating, this will provide fun and a healthy way to spend the day. For those days that are way to cold to venture outside , setting up a nice craft table with winter theme is the best way to make a cold day perfect, so kids can keep busy and at the same time have fun.
With snow comes the holidays Christmas is a time of togetherness, there are countless activities you can do that will hel create some cherished memories. Decorating the tree is a loved tradition for the whole family to get involved in, each member can choose something special and add it to the tree.
When we were younger a family tradition was my mom and aunt baking cookies all day, this will helo your family bond over baking and decorating these delicious treats, having a family movie night is another way to enjoy each other, watching classic Christmas films and having popcorn is the best way to spend time with family.
When a snow day arrives its time to get out there as a family and make some snowmen, and do some sled riding, we use to do this every weekend with our grandfather.He would take us to the hills and let us go and after we would go back to his house for hot cocoa. You can do things like building a snow man, this is one thing to do a snow day that never gets old. For a more relaxed snow day, consider making snow angels or having a fright, these are simple but yet enjoyable activities

The best part of winter is you get to observe wildlife and how they all have different behaviors with adapting to colder months, families can embark on a wildlife watching excurisons and discover the wonders of nature, You can also visit a wildlife refuge or a nature center that can give you a opportunity to see anmals such as deer and foxes and birds in their winter habitaits, something the whole family can enjoy.
Another awesome thing about winter is the clearest and most breathtaking veiws of the night sky, stargazing can be magical activity for families to enjoy together. ON a clear night, bundle up in a warm clothing and find a spot away from the city lights to observe the stars and constellations.
